Warren’s Ministry began as a High school senior. Minister Warren Hawkins III partnered with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) to start an on-campus Ministry. He led weekly Bible study meetings after school that encouraged students to accept the Lord while teaching them how to build a relationship with God. The bible study quickly grew in numbers and became a staple of encouragement and inspiration for the students at the school. It gained much local media publicity and notoriety. This experience was not only rewarding for the participants but also for Warren. This is when Warren believes that he discovered his greater works, he stated, “The Lord allowed me to operate in my calling, before I realized I was called.”
I never thought that my story would one day transpire…to inspire. My transition to being committed to a life for Christ did not happen overnight, nor was I spoon-fed the Gospel. In my case, it was a process that first broke, then shaped, and finally molded me into the young man I am today. I was not told to be this way by anyone. Instead I was shaped this way because I am a product of God’s hands. I have been shaped for greater works for the Kingdom of God.
As a child, the sky and the clouds became a reflection of my imagination. I often gazed at the sky and felt something higher and beyond the clouds was watching over me and pulling my life in a direction beyond my comprehension. I did not understand what it was, but I always knew there was a divine calling on my life, that I had been placed on this earth for a special reason, and that I was destined for greater works…I just didn’t know what those greater works were. But soon it would be revealed to me.
Growing up as a child, I fell in love with the sport of basketball. I grew fond of it so much that it became my idol. I felt as though I didn’t need God in my life because basketball was my God. By the time I was in high school, I had become such a great basketball player that I gained notoriety and success. My life’s dream was to play in the NBA and it seemed that I was on the path to achieving my goal.
